We are excited to bring you the fifth edition of Westfield Specialty’s Miscellaneous Professional Liability series. Q: How do you balance underwriting discipline with flexibility?
A: "We believe that strong underwriting discipline is what allows flexibility. When I truly understand the exposures present and the intent behind the coverage I'm offering, I can be thoughtful about where to work outside the box and where to hold firm. I’m comfortable working outside the box when it’s justified, but I’m just as comfortable saying no when something doesn’t make sense."
Q: How would you describe what's it's like to work with you as an underwriter?
A: "I’m not just looking to get a quote out the door. I’m trying to solve the problem in front of us. I also value open, honest conversations. If a broker has a good insight into their insured and is willing to talk through structure, terms, or even a different way of looking at the deal, that’s where I do my best work."
Q: What is your appetite for Insurance Agents & Brokers E&O?
A: "We offer a newly updated Insurance Agents & Brokers E&O form, available exclusively through our wholesale partners. Our target is agents and brokers with $1M or more in commissions or revenues, though a wide range of services can be considered.
